VNU's outstanding events and achievements in 2019
The year 2019 closes with great success of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) in almost all fields of operation. This is the fruit of a continuous striving process of the entire VNU’s system based on the preceding achievements. On December 16, 2019, VNU Journal of Science: Advanced Materials and Devices – JSAMD, published by VNU in cooperation with Elsevier Publishing House (The Netherlands) was selected by Clarivate Analytics Conglomerate to officially feature in the Web of Science SCIE (Science Citation Index Expanded) (formerly, the Institute for Scientific Information - ISI).[Video] VNU’s International students experience the Vietnamese traditional culture to welcome New Year 2020
VNU currently has about 1,200 international students attending short-term and long-term courses at VNU’s affiliates. This number is continuously increasing, which helps affirm the rising reputation of VNU in the international community. It can be said that these international students are VNU’s ambassadors.
Vietnam’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2020: Each person needs to have community thinking and action to be “cohesive and responsive”
In the heat of the country heading towards the year 2020 with important events, Vietnam is expected to succeed during its ASEAN Chairmanship. As an active member of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Pillar, VNU collaborated with the Ministry of Information and Communications to organize the Conference on the ASEAN Community and Vietnam’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2020 for VNU students.
Medals “For the Development Cause of VNU” awarded to Nagao Natural Environment Foundation President and Former President

In recognition of the valuable contributions to the sustainable development of VNU as well as to the promoting of partnership between VNU and University College Dublin (UCD), and beyond, the relationship between Ireland and Vietnam, On October 31, 2019, VNU President Nguyen Kim Son presented Medals “For the Development Cause of VNU” to Prof. Suzi Jarvis Founding Director of UCD Innovation Academy and Dr. Colman Farrell - Social Entrepreneur Award winner, Irish leading educational experts.
Officially approved student exchange between VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy and Junshin Gakuen University (Japan)

The Ireland Higher Education Fair Vietnam with the participation of eight leading universities from the country of the Shamrock was held at VNU for the first time.ADF scholarship worth 46-million Vietnam dong for VNU’s best entrance exam candidate
On November 6, 2019, Asia Development Foundation, Korea (ADF) awarded VNU’s 20 best entrance exam candidates scholarships, each valued $2,000, equivalent to more than 46 million VND. These students will continue to receive the scholarship until graduation, provided that they achieve excellent study results and actively participate in social activities.
