On 21/08/2014, VNU Vice President Nguyễn Hoàng Hải and LG Electronics Vietnam Chief Executive Officer Ko Tae Yeon signed the agreement on cooperation to carry out the training and development of high quality human resources in the field of science and technology.

Implementing the policy of expanding international cooperation in scientific research between VNU and its partners which are prestigious research universities in the world, in early July, 2014, VNU President Phùng Xuân Nhạ had a working visit to the university of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) and Maryland (Maryland, College Park - UMD) USA.
Science and Technology Serves the Sustainable Development of the Northwest Region.
Under the framework of the state-level key science and technology program in the 2013 – 2018 period titled "Science and Technology for the Sustainable Development of the Northwest Region" (called in short as the Northwest Program), on 3rd and 4th July, 2014, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Northwest Program Steering Committee, the Bắc Kạn provincial People’s Committee in coordination with VNU has held a scientific seminar with the theme "Science and Technology for Sustainable Development of the Northwest Region" and the Briefing of Science and Technology of the Northern midland and mountainous provinces in Bắc Kạn province.VNU and the University of Illinois: Establishing Cooperation in Research Fields
VNU President Phùng Xuân Nhạ had a working reception with a delegation from the University of Illinois (USA) led by President Robert A. Easter on June 17, 2014. Attending the meeting were also representatives from functional departments and a number of scientists of VNU.VNU and Indiana: Research Cooperation in Southeast Asia and environment area.
On May 27th, 2014, VNU President Phùng Xuân Nhạ had a working meeting with the Indiana University mission led by President Michael McRobbie. VNU Vice President Nguyễn Hữu Đức, representatives of functional departments and VNU members were also on hand.
