VNU and Indiana: Research Cooperation in Southeast Asia and environment area.
On May 27th, 2014, VNU President Phùng Xuân Nhạ had a working meeting with the Indiana University mission led by President Michael McRobbie. VNU Vice President Nguyễn Hữu Đức, representatives of functional departments and VNU members were also on hand.

 

IndianaUniversity signed a cooperative agreement in 2010 and carried out some joint activities in the environment science field in which 18 staff members from VNU School of Science came to practice in US and 10 staff members from IndianaUniversity came to work and teach at VNU School of Science.

 

 

At the meeting, the two sides introduced the strong points, the priorities and the cooperative potentials in training and research, with the aim of promoting the training and research quality and developing human resource of high quality. Besides, VNU scientists had the opportunity to present research cooperation suggestions with IndianaUniversity in environment, history, information technology, economics, etc. VNU President and Indiana University President agreed that in the coming time, the two sides would concentrate on developing and promoting cooperation in evironment research (sustainable environment management, climate change adaptability, biological diversity, land use changes, new energy, etc.) and research in South East Asia ( Vietnam Studies, Vietnam history and culture, South East Asia history and so on).
