18 postgraduate specialized disciplines enroll students under the capacity assessment mode.
The 2nd Entrance Postgraduate Examination of VNU already occurred on September 13 and 14, 2014.

There has been 3,938 candidates registered into 11 training institutions, of which 264 candidates register for Ph.D. degree.

VNU organized the enrollment under the capacity assessment mode for 18 majors belonging to two blocks: Natural Science and Technology, Social Sciences and Humanities. Capacity assessment exam papers replace the Basic exam subjects of 18 majors at postgraduate level.

There are 653 candidates registering for the specialized disciplines organized under the Capacity assessment mode.

The structure of the exam questions consists of two parts: Composition and Testing.

The composition writing part is to be done in 50 minutes, in the areas attached to the registered specialized disciplines (Natural Sciences, Technology, Social Sciences, Law, Economics, Education) in order to evaluate the reasoning capacity, creativity ability, motivation in study/research of examinees.

The testing part consists of 50 questions to be done in 100 minutes.

For the Natural Sciences and Technology Block, the forms of tests belong to the fields of knowledge: The basic Principles of Marxism - Leninism (15 questions); Languages (5 questions); Logic (5 questions); Linear algebra, analytics (including differential equations), statistical probability (25 questions).

For the Social Sciences and Humanities Block, the field of knowledge with the number of questions is allocated as follows: The basic principle of Marxism - Leninism (15 questions); Languages ​​(5 questions); Logics (15 questions); History - Culture - Society (10 questions); Applied Statistics (5 questions).

Total time for the Capacity assessment exam is 150 minutes.

18 Postgraduate Specialized Disciplines of VNU are to be enrolled according to the Capacity assessment mode:

- The Natural Science and Technology Block: Environmental Science; Environmental Engineering; Environment and Sustainable Development; Electronic Engineering; Telecommunications Engineering; Nano Materials and Components; Biological Nanotechnology; Climate Change; Sustainability Science.

- The Social Sciences and Humanities Block: Social Work; Theory and Teaching Methods of the French Language; Technology Governance and Enterprise Development; International Economics; Measurement and Evaluation in Education; Business Administration; Non-traditional Security Governance; Criminal Law and Criminal Proceedings; Economic law./.
