The VNU Specialized High Schools cover 5 subjects: Mathematics, Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology (under HUS High School for Gifted Students) and Foreign Languages with 6 languages: English, Russian, French, Chinese, German, Japanese (under ULIS Foreign Language Specialized School). The students are selected nationwide. With the aim to find out and foster gifted students as well as create sources of talented students for universities, the school enrolment is implemented to stabilize the training scale and ensure the input quality. The specialized high schools have carried out a lot of solutions to improve the quality including the combination of studying and research practicing, upholding the motto of “Practice makes perfect”, creating good university-society-family cooperation, strengthening the activeness in studying, as well as combining the comprehensive training with talent fostering to obtain high results. One of the most advantages of the specialized high schools is that their lecturers are all from member universities and other higher education institutions, who are of high professional level and passionate in scientific research.
