Student from VNU University of Technology achieve high ranking in ACM – ICPC contest at Asia round.
The international programmer contest ACM-ICPC at Asia round took place in Thailand on November 14, 2014.

There were 123 teams from 10 countries including Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Malaysia, South Korea having attended the contest.

The contest had 12 problems and all the teams had competed decisively in 5 hours.

Ultimately, there were 7 honored teams which had resolved 10 problems. The ranking of the teams was based on penalty points: 1 champion, 1 first prize team, 1 second prize team and 4 third prize teams.
The Java# and .NET team from VNU University of Technology were 2 out of 7 teams which had solved most of the problems of the exams, being ranked the 4th and 6th respectively.

The special feature of this contest is the rise of the Southeast Asian teams which had surpassed such strong teams as Shanghai Jiaotong University of China, or some other teams from Taiwan.

The top two teams in the contest , the AAA of Nanyang Technological University of Singapore (NTU) and Acrarity of National University of Singapore (NUS), were all the Vietnamese. Especially, 4 out of 6 members of this team were the former students of VNU University of Technology./.
