2019 Vietnamese language and culture study course for COE College students opened
On February 25th, 2019, ULIS-VNU held the opening ceremony of the Vietnamese language and culture study course for students of COE College (USA) in 2019.

The ceremony was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Language Education Professional Development Hoa Ngoc Son, Director of the International Education Center Le The Quy, officers and students of COE College and ULIS volunteer students.

COE College is a private university specializing in arts majors located in Cedar Rapids, Lowa.

In the past 12 years, ULIS and COE College have collaborated to organize annual courses in Vietnamese language and culture. In 2019, 14 students and 2 teachers of COE College take part in the program. The length of this year’s program is extended from 3 weeks to 2 months.

Speaking at the ceremony, MA. Le The Quy expressed his joy when the cooperative course between the two schools was more and more successful and highly appreciated, reflected by the extension of the course.

In the program, American students will have full and memorable experiences through language and cultural lessons, and visit famous places in Vietnam, etc. Particularly, they will do their internship at Vietnamese companies, television stations, Viettel companies and some other businesses.

COE College students who participate in the program also have homestay time at the homes of ULIS volunteer students. This is an opportunity for American students to experience Vietnamese culture and improve their Vietnamese language. As for Vietnamese students, this is a great opportunity for them to practice English.
