At the meeting, Prof.Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan sent congratulations to Mr. Olivier on his new position as co-director of IFI and showed his understanding about the advantages and challenges in developing IFI into International Francophone Institute, which, as for him, was a big change in its functions and missions, not just the name.
Prof.Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan confirmed VNU’s strong will to support IFI overcome the current and would-be difficulties.
Mr. Olivier expressed his deep gratitude and hoped for more support from VNU in this difficult period. He did believe in the successful transformation and further development of IFI thanks to the support from VNU, from French higher education organizations, from other partners, from IFI Co-director - Prof.Dr. Nguyen Huu Du and from other members of IFI.
Prof.Dr. Nguyen Huu Du expected, despite cultural difrence, a good cooperation between the two directors to fulfill the given tasks. He stated that the successful transformation into International Francophone Institute would be a big present for the Summit Conference in 2014 and that as a VNU member – the leading comprehensive, multidisciplinary and high quality center, IFI would enjoy lots of benefits in training, scientific research and collaboration with other VNU affiliated units.
Within the framework of the meeting, VNU President urged IFI to complete the project on developing IFI into International Francophone Institute, propose the plan and supervise the construction of IFI campus in Hoa Lac, as well as enhance exchanges, promote the interconnectedness and joint training, and strengthen the comprehensive cooperation with other VNU affiliated members.
