Vietnam – Japan collaboration promotion seminar
VNU – Kyoto University Collaboration Office (VKCO) organized the Seminar on Vietnam – Japan collaboration promotion on September 16, 2012.

The seminar aimed to promote cooperation in training and education, introduce scholarship programs and training courses in Japan for Vietnamese students, open chances for Japanese universities to make contact with Vietnamese higher education organizations, and build a long-term cooperation network.
Attending the seminar were Mr. Sato Tetsuya – the Second Secretary of Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, Dr. Nghiem Vu Khai – Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, also President of Vietnam – Japan Friendship Association, Prof.Dr.Sc. Vu Minh Giang – VNU Vice President and representatives from Vietnamese ministries, departments and agencies as well as some Japanese and Vietnamese universities.
The 1-year operation of VKCO and implementation of the Global 30 Project was reviewed at the seminar. Besides, participants discussed the tendency of studying abroad of Vietnamese students and the orientation of cooperation development with Japan universities.
Acting as the linkage in education between Vietnam and Japan, VKCO contributed to enhance the collaboration and realize the cooperation programs between the two universities as well as diffuse the Global 30 Project in particular and Japanese education in general. Also, VKCO supported students in updating scholarship information, organizing advisory seminars on applying Japanese Government scholarships and other scholarships, equipping students with studying and living skills in Japan, etc.
Speaking at the seminar, Prof.Dr.Sc. Vu Minh Giang highly appreciated VKCO’s encouraging achievements. He emphasized that one of the most important and basic targets in the current period was to promote education including higher education towards international integration and international standards. Therefore, VNU would focus on not only knowledge impartation and training high quality human resources but also strengthening and expanding the cooperation with other countries in the world including Japan. Prof.Dr.Sc. Vu Minh Giang hoped, through this seminar, the Vietnam - Japan cooperation and exchanges would be tightened, contributing to the mutual development.
