The Prime Minister of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang visits VNU
On October 15th, 2013, Prime Minister Li Keqiang of the People's Republic of China led a senior delegation to have visited the VNU and had an exchange with the university’s staff and students.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Thiện Nhân of The Socialist Republic of Vietnam together with other senior officials of ministries and sectors of the Vietnamese Government and VNU President Phùng Xuân Nhạ were also on hand.
Thousands of Chinese students have studied at VNU and many of them have become famous Vietnam Studies scholars and senior diplomats. The working visit of the delegation from the People's Republic of China to Vietnam will usher in the new development opportunities between two nations in general and promote the relations and cooperation on the educational basisin particular.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Thiện Nhân, on behalf of the Vietnamese Government, has reviewed the road of development of Vietnam-China relationship in the past century and affirmed that the relations between the two countries had experienced a lot of ordeals in history and it is the common priceless asset, for which each of us should be responsible to preserve and promote in the new situation.
The leaders of the two Parties and two countries have determined to develop Vietnam – China relations in accordance with the motto “Friendly neighborliness-Comprehensive Cooperation– Long-term Stability – Future-oriented” and in the spirit “Good neighbors –Good friends-Good comrades - Good partners”. “The strategic and comprehensive partnership” is the long – term policy and top priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy towards China.
In the context of the positive development in the relations between the two countries, the State visit of PM Li Keqiang is an event of important significance in consolidating the political relations and in promoting strategic and comprehensive partnership between the two countries. 
Since 1992, the relations between two countries in the educational and training field have increasingly developed. At present, there are 13,000 Vietnamese students studying in nearly 100 universities in China and 3,000 Chinese students studying in Vietnam. “These students are to be the cultural ambassadors of their countries, thus making an important contribution to enhancing the trust and mutual understanding between the people of the two countries” Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Thiện Nhân further stressed.
Speaking about the role of the young generation, the Chinese Prime Minister emphasized: “The future of Vietnam and China friendship lies with the students, with the young generation of the two countries”. It is the young people who will inherit, maintain and promote the said fine relations and cooperation passed from one generation to another. In order to fulfill that responsibility, young people should value your green years and treasure your time, study well and train yourselves constantly to become the talented people, making a contribution to national construction and boosting the friendly cooperation between the two nations, PM Li Keqiang further said, hoping that in future, there will be many more opportunities to have contacts and exchanges of information and getting to know each other between young people of the two countries. “If the young generation of the two countries clasp their hand tightly together, we can completely believe in the fine prospect of the two countries” – The Chinese Prime Minister said.
