VNU and Uppsala: Signing cooperative agreement on the graduate program of Public Management
On behalf of the two universities’s leaders, VNU Vice President Nguyễn Kim Sơn and Uppsala University Managing Director (Sweden) Anns Fust signed a cooperative agreement.

In the coming time, VNU and Uppsala University will cooperate in a MA program of Public Administration (VNU College of Economics) and a MA program of Hospital Management (VNU Hanoi School of Medicine and Pharmacy). On the basis of the Uppsala University’s academic programs, these programs will focus on the main issues such as: leadership skill, management of public finance, governance of human resources, international economics and international economic integration.

 

This is a joint program between the VNU College of Economics and Uppsala University since 2009 with 218 MA degree holders in 6 sessions.

As for the MA program in Hospital Management, both sides will discuss and agree on the detailed program with the aim of launching the first enrollment in 2014. Apart from these two programs, VNU and Uppsala University will search for cooperative opportunities in other programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

VNU Vice President Nguyen Kim Son said that VNU is always proactive in identifying the prioritized cooperative directions and in establishing new partnerships. Through the signed  documents among VNU and other major universities in the world, the members of VNU have concretized and  jointly deployed successfully the cooperative programs in research and education, reflecting the strong position of a comprehensive research university. VNU Vice President Nguyễn Kim Sơn hopes that the two sides will expand cooperation in other programs and in scientific research in the time to come.


Also at the ceremony, VNU Vice President Nguyễn Kim Sơn and Uppsala University Managing Director Anns Fust discussed the establishment of a representative office of Uppsala University in Vietnam as well as a number of contents relating to the exchange of students, lecturers and staffs.


Uppsala University, that was founded in 1477, is the oldest university in the Nordic region and ranks 62nd in the list of the world's leading universities. Uppsala has 9 faculties with following sectors: arts, political science, law, pharmacy, science and engineering... Uppsala is well-known for its tradition and outstanding achievements in teaching, learning and research activities, with 8 scientists having won the Nobel Prizes. Uppsala University offers 50 Bachelor programs, 45 MA programs and almost 2,000 courses providing specialized certificate./.
