Twenty-three students enrolling to a Master of Science in Nursing program
The opening ceremony of the first master program jointly offered by VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy and Mahidol University, Thailand, was held at VNU on January 26, 201


Attending the ceremony were His Excellency Mr. Panyarak Poolthup, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam, representatives of Mahidol University, the General Department of Training, the Ministry of Health, Bach Mai Hospital, VNU and VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Attending the ceremony were also the 23 students working as nurses in various hospitals; graduates of the training program will be awarded the degree by Mahidol University.

Speaking at the ceremony,
VNU Vice President Nguyễn Kim Sơn stressed that this program showed the close cooperation between VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bach Mai Hospital, Mahidol University and medical facilities in and outside the country.

VNU Vice President directed the School of Medicine and Pharmacy to focus on the creating of favorable conditions for the best implementation of the training program. The master program of adult nursing will be the opening activity for future bilateral cooperation prospects between Vietnam and Thailand, between the two universities as well as among medical facilities in and outside the country.

Trương Việt Dũng said that the master training program would help to solve the shortage of graduate nurses in central hospitals and undergraduate nurse training institutions throughout the country.
Attending the ceremony,
His Excellency Mr. Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam delivered a speech wishing the training program success; the representative of Mahidol University authorities presented the detailed training program.
