VNU has decided to use a unified competence assessment test for year 2015 university admission consideration. The specific admission plan is as follows:

 Candidates applying for admission to VNU are to take a competence assessment test either in May or in August, 2015. On the basis of the competence assessment test’s result, VNU will consider the admitting of candidates from high to low scores (to the minimum score prescribed by discipline and type of training). Those candidates who have gained the required scores in the competence assessment test will be admitted to VNU after obtaining the passing score in the national high school graduation examination prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Candidates may take the named test in May, 2015 prior to the national high school graduation examination to obtain scores for admission consideration. To be issued a letter of acceptance, qualified-for-admission-to-VNU candidates only need to be high school graduates. In August, 2015, VNU will administer the competence assessment test for those candidates who have not taken the test before.

Candidates registered for the talent, international standard (strategic task) programs, have to take an additional foreign language proficiency test; qualified applicants will be issued a letter of acceptance. Candidates previously graduated from high school can register for the competence assessment test for admission consideration to VNU.

Candidates applying for admission to VNU University of Languages and International Studies (VNU ULIS) have to take an extra foreign language test for admission consideration. The tests corresponding to the admission requirements for each major specified by VNU ULIS include English, Russian, French, Chinese, German, and Japanese.
