Laos Ministry of Education and Sports explores education quality assurance at VNU
On November 25, 2015, under the framework of Cooperation Project “Strengthening education quality assurance capacity between Vietnam and Laos”, a Laos Ministry of Education and Sports delegation, led by Assistant Minister Mr Thongphiou Bouthsady, paid a working visit to VNU.

 

The delegation comprised leaders of Laos Ministry of Education and Sports Departments, Presidents of universities and the Principal of Laos Gifted High School.

Meeting with Laos Delegation were the Director of the Institute for Education Quality Assurance (VNU IEQA) and the Centre for Education Quality Accreditation VNU CEQA) Nguyễn Quý Thanh, and Deputy Head of the Cooperation and Development Department Trần Đoàn Kim. Representing Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training Department of Educational Quality Testing and Accreditation, Mr Trần Văn Nghĩa, also took part in the meeting.

 

 

During the visit, Laos Ministry of Education and Sports Assistant Minister Thongphiou Bouthsady and his delegation expected to learn about and exchange experience in advancing education testing and accreditation capability as well as promoting comprehensive education cooperation with VNU.

 

Mr Thongphiou Bouthsady believed that the valuable experience from VNU - a leading institution in radically innovating Vietnam university admission system with competency assessment testing and internationally standardized education quality assurance and accreditation, would help Laos Ministry of Education and Sports in building development strategy in the near future.

 

At the meeting, the Director of VNU IEQA and CEQA introduced the issues relating to the planning of policies, strategies and education quality assurance activities; the coordinating of accreditation activities, educational institution quality accreditation procedures and internationally standardized quality accreditation activities.
