Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s meeting with VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn
On January 17, 2017, during his official visit to Vietnam, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had a meeting with VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn and VJU’s Management Board and students at Sheraton Hanoi Hotel.

At the meeting, VNU President sent his deep thanks to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for his support for the establishing of VJU, one of the VNU’s seven member universities.

VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn emphasized VJU’s importance in providing high quality human resources as well as promoting friendship between Vietnam and Japan.

He stated that VNU would create favourable conditions for VJU’s development and hoped for continuous support from the Japanese side, especially, from the Prime Minister in approving ODA for developing VJU into a high ranking university in Asia and in the world.

Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe stressed, “VJU is an extremely important project – a symbol of the two nations’ friendship, a centre for training highly qualified human resources for Vietnam and Japan.”

He expected VJU’s students to study well to contribute to Vietnam’s future development and be a linkage between Vietnam and Japan.

The Japanese Prime Minister also said that he would consider the approving of ODA for VJU Project and affirmed his commitment to the providing of maximum support from the Japanese Government and enterprises for VJU.
