VNU President to join the Government delegation to visit Germany and the Netherlands
Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc is to pay an official visit to Germany and the Kingdom of the Netherlands as well as to attend the G20 Summit 2017 in Hamburg from July 5 to July 11, 2017, at the invitation of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn will join the Government delegation in this official visit.

The visit by Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc will strengthen the strategic partnership with Germany on climate change and water management, promote cooperation on sustainable agriculture and food security with the Netherlands; and convey the image of a dynamic Vietnam, a reliable and responsible partner in the international community in dealing with global economic issues as well as issues of common concern.

On this occasion, in the presence of Vietnam and Germany leaders, VNU will sign an MoU with Germany universities and enterprises on implementing the project “Compact and Robust Medium Wind Turbine (CART)”. VNU will also sign a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Rostock University (URO); and VNU University of Science will sign an agreement with Hamburg University of Applied Sciences.

In the Netherlands, VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn will also join the Government delegation at the Roundtable Business Forum and meet Dutch partners joining the Sustainability Alliance of Urban Networks in Asian Cities (SAUNAC). SAUNAC is funded by the European Union’s ERASMUS+ program and is a partnership of 5 European and 6 Vietnamese universities, including VNU University of Science. SAUNAC’s activities aim to build the capacity of the universities in Vietnam and their stakeholders to give them the tools to enable a transition in Vietnam through a number of activities that educate professionals and students to develop viable solutions for smart sustainable cities.
