Speaking at the ceremony, VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to Prof. Phan Khánh Trung for his valuable contribution to calligraphy studies as well as the promotion of cultural exchanges between VNU and Taiwan partners in particular, and between Vietnam and Taiwan in general.
As the Chairman and Founder of the R.O.C Calligraphy Society and awarded with the title of VNU Honorary Professor by the late Prof.Acad. Nguyễn Văn Đạo (VNU Former President), Prof. Phan Khánh Trung has conducded many activities to develop cultural cooperation between the two sides for nearly twenty years. VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn said that the training courses, textbooks, materials and calligraphy works by Prof. Phan Khánh Trung had much influenced young calligraphers in VNU and Vietnam.
VNU President also advised that in 2018, Prof. Phan Khánh Trung and his colleagues would conduct some calligraphy classes at VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Trần Nhân Tông Institute and some other VNU units.
Expressing his honour to be awarded with the VNU Remembrance Medal, Prof. Phan Khánh Trung hoped to continue his teaching calligraphy as well as organizing and participating in cultural exchange activities in an attempt to promote the cooperation between the R.O.C Calligraphy Society and VNU.
Attending the ceremony, Deputy Chief Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Hanoi Trần Văn Yên congratulated Prof. Phan Khánh Trung and expected the R.O.C Calligraphy Society and VNU to organize more cultural exchange activities in the field of calligraphy in the future.
Within the framework of the ceremony, the delegates also took part in the calligraphy exchange program with Prof. Phan Khánh Trung and members of the R.O.C Calligraphy Society.
