VNU Remembrance Medal Awarded to Dr. Rikhipal Singh Thakral
On September 19, 2017, VNU Vice President Nguyễn Hồng Sơn awarded the VNU Remembrance Medal to Dr. Rikhipal Singh Thakral – Executive Director of the Thakral Group, Director and Founder of In Sewa Co., Ltd for his contribution to the development of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

Speaking at the ceremony, VNU Vice President Nguyễn Hồng Sơn expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to Dr. Rikhipal Singh Thakral for his valuable contribution.

VNU Vice President said that Dr. Rikhipal Singh Thakral was a great example of the combination of a scientist, an entrepreneur and a social activist with significant contributions to Vietnam in general and VNU in particular. He also hoped that Dr. Rikhi Thakral would promote the cooperation between VNU and the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Dr. Rikhi Thakral expressed his honor to be awarded with the VNU Remembrance Medal. He shared that he loved food in Hanoi and enjoyed seeing Vietnamese women in Ao dai (long dresses). He went on saying, “Although many people think that working abroad will bring more opportunities, but for me, you should stay in Vietnam to contribute to the development of your country with your own capacity.”

Also at the ceremony, VNU Vice President Nguyễn Hồng Sơn and Dr. Rikhi Thakral awarded the 2016-2017 school year Thakral - In Sewa scholarships to 28 students including 15 students from VNU University of Education, 7 students from VNU University of Science and 6 students from VNU University of Economics and Business. The In Sewa Charity Certificates and awards were also given to those faculty members having ISI/SCOPUS articles published in international journals.
