Speaking at the meeting, VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn said that promoting the long and fruitful tradition of cooperation, each year, besides holding working meetings with many delegations from Russian universities, VNU received a large number of Russian staff and students coming to study Vietnamese and research into Vietnamese Studies. VNU is the only institution in Vietnam, which is supported by the Russian World Foundation to build the Russian World Reading Room for providing scientists, lecturers and students with knowledge and information on the Russian Federation’s economy, culture, education, arts, science and other aspects of life in Russia.
VNU President hoped that the working visit of Russian leading universities and the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Hanoi would enhance cooperation in education as well as open new cooperation prospects.
At the working session, the Russian universities and VNU units introduced their strengths and cooperation priorities with an emphasis on the implementation of joint training and research programs; training staff and faculty; staff and students exchanges. Mrs. Shafinskaya Natalia said that the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Hanoi and the Embassy of Russia in Vietnam would always support and help promote fruitful cooperation with VNU.
