The International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) 2018 features a gold medalist and a bronze medalist from HUS High School for Gifted Students
All the six Vietnamese students taking part in the 59th International Mathematical Olympiad in Romania won medals including one gold, 2 silvers and 3 bronzes. Specifically,

1. Nguyễn Quang Bin, a 12th grader from VNU University of Science High School for Gifted Students, won a gold medal;

2. Phan Minh Đức, an 11th grader from Hà Nội – Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students, won a silver medal;

3. Trịnh Văn Hoàn, a 12th grader from Trần Phú High School for Gifted Students (Hải Phòng City), won a silver medal;

4. Trần Việt Hoàng, a 12th grader from Trần Phú High School for Gifted Students (Hải Phòng City), won a bronze medal;

5. Trương Mạnh Tuấn, a 12th grader from VNU University of Science High School for Gifted Students, won a bronze medal; and

6. Đỗ Hoàng Việt, a 12th grader from Nguyễn Quang Diệu High School for Gifted Students in the Mekong Delta (Đồng Tháp province), won a bronze medal.

Previously, in May 2018, the participants from VNU University of Science High School for Gifted Students won 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals at the 2018 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO) in Russia.
