Nguyễn Phương Thảo (the 3rd one, from the left) was honoured as the “First Winner” at the 29^th IBO

All the four Vietnamese contestants at the 29^th International Biology Olympiad held in Iran won medals, including three golds and a silver.

The gold medalists are Nguyễn Phương Thảo, a 12^th grader from VNU University of Science High School for Gifted Students; Trần Thị Minh Anh, a 12^th grader from Trần Phú High School for Gifted Students in Hai Phong city; and Hoàng Minh Trung, an 11^th grader from  Lam Sơn High School for Gifted Students in Thanh Hoa province.

The silver medalist is Hoàng Văn Đông, a 12^th grader from Nguyễn Trãi High School for Gifted Students in Hai Duong province.

According to the 29th IBO’s contestant rankings, Nguyễn Phương Thảo came as the “First Winner” of the contest; Trần Thị Minh Anh came 9th, Hoàng Minh Trung - 19^th and Hoàng Văn Đông - 64^th.

The 29th IBO was held in Iran with the participation of 261 contestants from 71 countries and territories.
