VNU and National Taipei University: Cooperation in student exchange
On August 16, 2018, VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn had a working session with a delegation from the National Taipei University (NTPU, China) led by President Lee Chen Jai.

Attending the meeting were CEO of Diptronics Manufacturing Inc. Steve Lin, and Vice Chairman of Annex Electronics Co., Ltd. in Vietnam (Diptronics Manufacturing Inc.) Hou Chien Lin.

At the meeting, VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn and NTPU President Lee Chen Jai discussed the implementation of the cooperation activities under the agreement between VNU and NTPU signed in September 2017. First of all, the two universities will each exchange three students per semester, which is sponsored by Annex Electronics Co., Ltd.

Appreciating the cooperation and support of NTPU and Diptronics Manufacturing Inc., VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn said that the units of VNU would select suitable candidates to exchange with NTPU. He suggested that, with the support of Diptronics Inc. in general and Annex Electronics in Vietnam in particular, VNU and NTPU discuss and consider cooperation in joint training and joint research programs towards the creation of collaborative products with high applicability to meet practical needs.

With the strength of electronics and telecommunications, VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn hoped that Annex Electronics in Vietnam would be an internship location for students from VNU University of Engineering and Technology. The VNU leader also expected Diptronics Inc. to offer more scholarships to students in different fields.

Mr. Lee Jai said that NTPU would like to expand its academic cooperation with international partners, especially top universities. The NTPU President believed that globalization was the only way to improve vision and opportunities for students and faculties. In addition to student exchanges, he expected the two sides to exchange faculty in attempt to improve their global teaching and research experience.

Highly appreciating VNU’s suggestions, CEO of Diptronics Manufacturing Inc. Steve Lin stated that, in addition to the annual student exchange scholarships, Diptronics Manufacturing Inc. would provide scholarships to students from VNU’s Faculty of Chinese Studies and would also offer more scholarship programs. Sharing that there were some VNU alumni working at the Annex Electronics at present, he hoped that the number would increase in the coming time, and promised to create favourable conditions for VNU students to do internships at the company.
