The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2019 (QS WUR by Subject) listed VNU’s three broad subject areas, namely  Physics and Astronomy, Computer Science & Information Systems, and Engineering Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing among tops 501-550 (No. 1 in Vietnam), 551-600 and 451-500, respectively.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology has also been ranked by the QS WUR by Subject 2019.

Earlier on, in 2018, the US News’ Best Global University Rankings listed VNU as the only university in Vietnam with the field of Physics qualified for ranking (502nd place  globally).

Also in 2018, VNU was, for the first time, listed in the world’s top 801-1,000 universities by the QS WUR.

Computer Science & Information Systems: top 551 - 600

Engineering Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing: top 451 - 500

Physics and Astronomy: top 501 - 500
