Nearly 200 Asian students and lecturers attend the Global Partnership of Asian Colleges 2019
Nearly 200 students and lecturers from 7 prestigious universities in the region came to Hanoi to attend the Global Partnership of Asian Colleges 2019 - GPAC 2019, at VNU to discuss the topic “Digital Economies in Asia”.

The Global Partnership of Asian Colleges is held annually in Asian countries including Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Israel and Vietnam, respectively. This year’s forum is hosted by VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB).

Over the past 28 years, the number of the official forum’s members has increased to 10 universities, including Seoul National University (South Korea), Chiba University of Commerce (Japan), Waseda University (Japan), Keio University (Japan), Meio University (Japan), Chengchi National University (Taiwan), Southwest University of Finance and Economics (China), the College of Management Academic Studies (Israel), Tokyo Metropolitan University (Japan) and VNU University of Economics and Business (Vietnam).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, VNU Vice President Pham Bao Son said: “We are very happy that one of our member universities - VNU UEB, is the host of GPAC for the third time. GPAC 2019 with its focus on the key issues of the digital era will be a forum for professors and students from 7 universities to share, exchange and discuss the issues related to the current situation of digital economies in Asia and propose recommendations for economic strategies and policies. With the purpose of bringing students from different countries together for academic and cultural exchanges, GPAC 2019 will provide the participants with valuable opportunities to interact with students from different parts of Asia through not only academic activities, but also cultural and social activities. I hope that you will have a good time participating in GPAC 2019 with fruitful discussions, make new friends in the next days and enjoy your stay in Vietnam”.

Vice Rector of VNU UEB Nguyen Anh Thu affirmed that GPAC was the opportunity for lecturers to exchange academically and for students to show their research ability to international friends to promote integration.

During the 5 days of the event (from August 26 to August 31, 2019), the students and lecturers will discuss the topic “Digital Economies in Asia”, focusing on the main aspects including Finance; Accounting and International Currency; International Economic Integration and Multidisciplinary Issues; Management and International Business; and other related issues that commit to bring useful knowledge to all students in the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Besides the academic exchanges, the students and lecturers also have the opportunity to experience Vietnamese history, culture, food, etc.

As scheduled, GPAC 2020 is to be held at Seoul National University (South Korea).
