Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam: National high school graduation exam 2020 retains the 2019 exam format
On March 17, the representative of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam (MoET) responded to the petition for reduction in the National High School Graduation Exam 2020 exam subjects due to lengthy school closure.

Over the last 2 months, schools across the country have kept students away from school to avoid Covid-19 pandemic, which has greatly affected the National High School Graduation Exam in 2020. Mr. Mai Van Trinh (Director of MoET Quality Control Department) affirmed that in conformity with Conclusion 51 of the Secretariat regarding the implementation of Resolution No. 29 on fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education, the National High School Graduation Exam 2020 would be administered with the same format as in 2019.

However, MoET will continue to closely watch the situation of Covid-19 pandemic in order to reduce the curriculum load to both ensure educational objectives and fit in with the teaching conditions of schools during the long closure due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Previously, Minister Phung Xuan Nha directed MoET professional units to design mock tests for all the subjects in the National High School Graduation Exam 2020. These tests need balancing against the amount of knowledge that the student will be taught.

According to the latest decision of MoET on adjusting the school year 2019-2020 timeline, the school year will end before May 17 and the National High School Graduation Exam has been rescheduled for August 8-11.
