[Photos] Social distancing – An online Vietnamese class
"I’m not sad because my students are always around me", confided Dr. Le Thi Thanh Tam, a lecturer from the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Language under VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities, after distancing herself from the classroom and her foreign students for more than 4 weeks.

For Dr. Tam, shifting from traditional teaching to online teaching means a whole process.

According to Dr. Tam, teaching Vietnamese to foreign students has always been difficult; teaching it online is even more difficult because much interaction between the teacher and the student is typical of the major.

On average, the online teaching session lasts 100 minutes but it usually lasts longer.

In her spare time, Dr. Tam always maintains an optimistic mind and believes that “back-to-school” time will come soon.

Besides her students of Vietnamese, Dr. Tam has one special student, her daughter, who always cares for her.

Ms Tam is just one of the many VNU lecturers who are striving with any possible means to create a favourable learning environment for their students.
