Delegates from VNU-CEA included Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien - Permanent Vice-director and also is the Supervisor of the Assessment team. The representatives of the  Assessment Team Members, included Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - Team Leader, Dr. Hoang Thi Xuan Hoa - Secretary, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Trung Thanh - Permanent member. On the side of the Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hai An - Rector, members of the Board of Rectors, leaders of the units and departments and representatives of faculty, staff, learners of the university.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien - Permanent Vice-director introduced the objectives and content of the preliminary site visit; the composition of the Assessment team and the desire that the University as well as the Assessment team experts will prepare the best documentation, interviewees, places to check, the schedule for the actual site visit and logistics issues prepared for the upcoming the actual site visit.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hai An - Rector introduced the participants to the preliminary site visit; reported the process of self-assessment of the Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, and the university committed will comply with all procedures and requirements of the Assessment team and provide information, evidence to serve the external evaluation process in the coming time.  

Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan – Team leader highly appreciated the university's preparation for external evaluation; the information and evidence is well prepared; options for external evaluation are basically completed. The team leader exchanged, discussed and agreed with the university on the additional list of evidences, the subjects to be interviewed, places to visit for inspection, organize and define specific schedule for actual site visitat the University.

In the preliminary site visit, the VNU-CEA delegates briefly presented the desktop assessment results and findings based on the self-assessment report, discussed the tentative plan and the provisions, including physical facilities 1, 2 and 3 and logistics, additional evidents, and interviewees groups for the actual site visit.

At the preliminary site visit, the Permanent Vice-Director of VNU-CEA, The Assessment Team Leader and the Rector of the Hanoi University of Mining and Geology signed the record of the preliminary site visit. The actual site visit at Hanoi University of Mining and Geology is planned to be from June, 17^th to 24^th 2019.
