VNU’s student affairs: Ensuring friendliness, convenience and safety for all students

VNU’s student affairs are being shifted towards international standards to ensure friendliness, convenience and safety for all students.

Many activities to support life and study are organized to meet the high quality training requirements of VNU and students’ diverse needs.

Comprehensive health care

VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy and VNU Hospital are two units that combine training, scientific research with medical examination and treatment services. With a team of medical professors, doctors and experts in the fields of basic science, VNU Hospital provides comprehensive, advanced technical services in diagnosis and treatment to serve the medical needs of VNU’s students, staff in particular and people in general.

Notably, in response to the Covid-19 epidemic, VNU has equipped its students with knowledge of epidemic prevention, updated information on the disease situation in the world and in Vietnam; updates on new cases being treated in isolation, epidemic prevention methods, and treatment procedures according to the standard treatment protocol by the Ministry of Health.

Teaching method innovation support

Utilizing the strengths of a multidisciplinary model in respoinse to the trend of university autonomy, VNU has proposed a scheme to innovate teaching activities in the 2019 - 2025 period in order to create a breakthrough in quality improvement, affirming its position and brand name in the context of globalization.

The Centre for Teaching Excellence has been established to research, access and disseminate advanced educational technology as well as to motivate and inspire VNU’s lecturers.

Furthermore, VNU has studied the teaching methods from several advanced universities in the world in order to enhance skills, promote innovative thinking and develop experiential teaching methods for its lectures.

Physical, sports, defense and security activities

As general subject training units for the whole VNU, the Centre for Physical Education and Sports and the Centre for National Defense and Security Education  are gradually innovating their teaching methods in accordance with the trend of higher education development in Asia and in the world to equip students with basic physical education knowledge and skills, individualized sports as well as essentials on national defense and security policies and military skills to get them ready to defend the country.

In particular, the two above-named units well collaborate in integrating national defense security and physical education subjects to save space and help the students have an overall view of these two subjects.
