On August 15^th and 16^th, 2020, VNU’s Party Committee organized its 6^th congress. The 6^th Congress defined the action motto for the 2020-2025 term as "Creative Innovation - National Responsibility - Sustainable Development”.

VNU’s Party Committee for the new term is expected to promote its example as a clean, strong institution with vigor and leadership capacity to deliver the goal of turning VNU into one of the 100 leading universities in Asia and one of Top 500 universities globally.

The 6^th Congress of VNU's Party Committee heightened the spirit of democracy, solidarity, creative innovation – national responsibility – sustainable development, demonstrating the will and determination of the entire VNU's Communist Party Committee; mobilizing the strength of all resources; grasping opportunities to overcome challenges and proactively adapt to the 4.0 industrial revolution; creating an important development step in turning VNU into an advanced research university, effectively contributing to the national human development; successfully implementing the pioneering missions assigned by the Party and State to train and foster highly-qualified human resources based on innovation, advanced research and technology development, playing a pivotal role as a flagship in Vietnam higher education system.

The Congress elected VNU's 6^th Communist Party Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term,. Mr. Nguyen Kim Son was re-elected Secretary of VNU’s Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
