Timely response and adaptation to the covid-19 pandemic

Facing the outbreak of the pneumonia epidemic caused by the nCoV and motivated by the ultimate goal of preventing the epidemic from breaking out and affecting the well-being of its students and staff, VNU actively responded and adapted in time by establishing a Committee for rapid reaction to the COVID-19 epidemic and launching a hotline to receive information related to the epidemic. VNU also issued a series of mechanisms, administrative policies to direct, administer, and guideline documents to not only operate the entire system smoothly in the new situation but also ensure the effectiveness of anti-epidemic work.

Besides, VNU assigned the Student Support Centre and VNU Hospital to coordinate with Hanoi Department of Health to sanitize schools, dormitories and to guide on epidemic prevention for staff, students and people in the neighbourhood of VNU’s campuses.

VNU's training affiliates swiftly switched from face-to-face teaching to online mode (E-learning) via Zoom and Microsoft Team to ensure the teaching and learning timeline and support students’ study during the period of social distancing. The lectures were conducted by means of streaming teachers’ recorded lessons with slides, video clips and board on fanpages and other online groups. Hence, with a wifi-connected computer or a mobile device, learners could pre-read learning documents, view them, do and submit assignments online.

Amidst the context of the COVID-19 epidemic, VNU students and scientists manufactured applicable products for epidemic prevention such as hand sanitizer liquid, automatic hand disinfectors, closed room disinfectors, mask wearing reminder robots, to name just a few.
