11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

- Firstly, this thesis points out the narratological characteristics of Marquez’s novels as well as the features of Latin American novel of magical realism.

- Secondly, this thesis applies narratology in term of genre and postmodern theory , to analyzing a specific typical phenomenon of literature in the world, that is, Marquez’s novels.

- Thirdly, this thesis provides a system of, new information about Marquez and his work as well as and puts them into the Latin American cultural context.

-  Finally, this thesis contributes to identifying the position and signification of Latin American realism in the world literature.

- Compiling references for literature students, graduate students and for those who are interested in this study subject.

13. Further research directions, if any:

- Researching the influence of the dual role in the G. Marquezs’s writing, comparing Marquez’s works with other writers’ works at the same time or having interaction with his works; comparing Marquez stories and novels, researching the connections between his works and Latin American cultures, translating his novels and stories into Vietnamese.
