11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

Contribute to propose an enlarged hedge algebras for modeling the semantics core of terms in order to provide a mathematical formalism for developing methodologies to design automatically the fuzzy set based semantics with interval-cores, e.g. trapezoidal fuzzy sets, to represent linguistic frames of cognition.

Applications of the semantics core and the trapezoidal fuzzy set based semantics of the linguistic frames of cognition to the optimal design problem of the interpretable fuzzy linguistic rule based classifiers. The experimental results of the proposed methods are evaluated and compared to the state-of-the-art published results.

Research on the quality effects of the fuzzy linguistic rule based classifier design methods with the computational semantics of linguistic terms determined by the hedge algebras and propose the quality improvements using soft computing techniques.

12. Practical applicability, if any:

The research results can be applied to solve the current hot issues of the classification problems and can be applied to solve the other current hot problems such as the fuzzy control, pattern recognition, etc.

13. Further research directions, if any:

Research on the fuzziness parameter optimization and the optimal fuzzy rule set selection based on the coevolutionary methods. Research on the fuzzy reasoning method for the fuzzy rule based classifiers using hedge algebras. Apply hedge algebras to solve the classification problems with missing data, imbalanced data.
