10. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

From the theoretical view, this thesis brought to a concept of innovation as well as innovation system approach. Accordingly, the innovation used in this thesis meant a complex of social activities that aim at creating new products or implementing a process based on new methodologies or even applying new solutions to bring an invention to market so that it can make economic benefits. Innovation system approach was the use of knowledge of the innovation system section (the structure of the innovation system, the relationship between its components) to create an effective linkage model between universities - academic institutes – industries. It helps to achieve  innovation targets in accordance with the current context of Vietnam. The thesis at the same time analyzed the development in term of connection between universities - institutes and industries throughout history, which points out the change of each model time to time, and it also clarifies the uncertainty - the probability of forming the linkages in the triangle linkage.

In the reality, by using both quantitative and qualitative methods, the thesis has pointed out the current status of linkage between universities - institutes and industries as well as the limitations of this status; it analyzes the impact factors to the triangle linkage; it puts forward a new model of linkage between universities - academic institutes and industries with valuable solutions to ensure that model can be operated well balanced on the current context of Vietnam.
