11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

The new results of the thesis shows that this is the first in-depth study on the issue of applying the fundamental principles of international laws in resolving disputes in the East Sea. Specifically, on the basis of the selective inheritance of the findings  of relevant published research, the thesis has:

- Further clarificated the theoretical issues on the fundamental principles of international law, contributes to the clarification and enrichment of the scientific basis of the application of fundamental principles of international laws to addressing international disputes in general and settlement of international disputes on the sea and islands in particular;

- Analyzed and evaluated the practical application of these principles in the settlement of sea and island disputes in the world in general and in the East Sea in particular.

- Contributed some measures to improve the effectiveness of the application of fundamental principles of international laws to the settlement of international disputes on the sea and islands; contributed some measures to the resolution of the East Sea disputes on the basis of a thorough application of the full value of the content of fundamental principles of international laws to protect sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction of Vietnam in this sea area.

12. Practical Applicability:

With the achieved findings, the thesis has contributed to the enrichment of the scientific basis of the application of fundamental principles of international laws to settlement of international disputes in general and international disputes on sea and islands in particular.

The findings of the thesis will contribute to the system of research on the East Sea of Vietnam to present an objective and scientific voice of Vietnamese researchers to the international community. They can be used as a valuable reference for Vietnamese authorities in formulating policies, recommending and proposing to the State solutions to the resolving process of disputes directly related to Vietnam in the East Sea as well as in the implementation of such solutions in practice; At the same time, the thesis can be used for teaching, learning and researching at law institutes, universities and institutions in Vietnam; It also contributes to the propaganda, raising awareness and understanding of sea and islands, and territorial sovereignty; cultivates  a clear awareness of the responsibility in struggling for and protecting Vietnam's sovereignty and legitimate interests in the East Sea.
