11. Summary of new findings of the thesis:

(1) The research adopted new gender-sociology oriented approach to point out the relationship between theory and practice, explaining the current advantages and disadvantages that women are experiencing in household economic development.

(2) By using mixed methods of quantitative and qualitative sociology, the thesis reflects the current role of women in household economic development.

(3) The thesis analyzed the factors influencing on the role of women in household economic development.

(4) The thesis has proposed a number of recommendations and proposals to improve the role of women in household economic development in Ba Vi – Hanoi.

12. Practical applicability, if any:

1 / Ba Vi authorities and agencies may refer to supplement and improve the local policy.

2 / The research findings can be used as references for the future research, lecture in sociology in family and gender, rural sociology and economic in universities and colleges.

3/ Giving a comprehensive picture of the women’s role in household economic development and the influential factors on women’s involvement in household economic development.

13. Further research direction, if any: Assess the change in gender role in household economic development in different socio-economic, cultural periods in some provinces.
