During his visit, Mr. Sergey Naryshkin Yevgenyevich will visit and have an exchange with the leaders and students from Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

At the exchange, the Chairman of the State Duma will introduce the foreign policy of the Russian Federation and the future of the Vietnam-Russia relations.

Earlier on November 23-26, 2014, General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng made an official visit to Russia at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin.

The visit of the Vietnamese General Secretary aims to deploy the comprehensive implementation of the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation and development; multilaturalizing and diversifying the international relations; being proactive and active in  international integration; raising the country’s position; creating favorable international environment for construction, protection and development of Vietnam.

Vietnam has a fine traditional friendly relations with the former Soviet Union and the present-day Russian Federation; the mutual visits between the leaders of the two countries aim to strengthen and deepen further the  comprehensive strategy partnership; enhance political trust; promote bilateral cooperation, especially in economics, trade, investment, defense and security, science-technique, education-training, culture and tourism and promote the implementation of the key cooperation projects.

On May 5, 2013, VNU President Phùng Xuân Nhạ was a member in the delegation of Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng to visit the Russian Federation at the invitation of Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev. In the presence of Prime Minister  of Vietnam and  the Russian Federation, VNU President Phùng Xuân Nhạ and Director of Moscow National University named after Lomonosov (MGU) Viktor A. Sadovnichiy signed the cooperation agreement on Science and Education between the two universities.

Recently, on October 25 to November 01, 2014, a delegation of VNU led by VNU President Phùng Xuân Nhạ made a working visit to The Russian Federation. During this visit, the delegation of VNU exchanged and had important the cooperation agreement with many major universities of the Russian Federation, namely, Moscow State University named after Lomonosov, Saint-Petersbourg National University, Moscow Amity University, University of Hydrometeorology of the Russian Federation, Moscow Energy University in the fields of education, scientific research, and in the exchange of staffs, lecturers and students.
