Dear Presidents, Vice-Chancellors, Rectors,
Distinguished guests,
Ladies and gentlemen’s,
I feel very honored to be here today at the 2nd ASEAN - China Rectors Conference jointly organized by ASEAN University Network and Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
First of all, on behalf of the Ministry of Training and Education of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, I would like to extend to you my warmest greetings and highly appreciate the initiative by ASEAN Universities Network (AUN) and Chines universities in enhancing partnership in academic activities in order to actively consolidate the existing, effective cooperation and friendships among South East Asian countries and the People Republic of China.
It is obvious that over the last years, the cooperation among ASEAN members has been quickly developed, especially in the field of culture and higher education. With the aim of building together the ASEAN Community, many activities have been conducted for economic growth, social development, international integration as well as national identity preservation. Along with the improvement of internal cooperative linkage among themselves, ASEAN countries have made great efforts to expanding relationship and cooperation to their neighboring countries, especially with China with an aim to promote mutual-understanding and development thus contributing to regional peace and prosperity through close partnership in different fields. The ASEAN - China Rectors’ Conference could be seen as typical example for this successful cooperation.
In spite of many difficulties and challenges, ASEAN and Chinese universities have been working very hard to implement their own strategic aims, and has effectively used all resources for the improvement of each university’ quality and prestige. I fully believe that distinguished Presidents, Vice-chancellors, Rectors will make the best and most effective value of this opportunity for further tightening the fine cooperation between ASEAN and Chinese universities to reflect the better aim for a world of peace and stability, thus implementing so as to build up a world of peace and friendships.
Finally, I would like to wish all of you good health and success. I would also wish the cooperation between ASEAN and Chinese universities ever-increasing development.
