At the meeting with the University of Maryland, the two sides acknowledged the effective cooperation activities in recent time, at the same time exchanged and discussed about the cooperation opportunities to exploit the strengths and the areas of of mutual interests.

VNU President Phùng Xuân Nhạ signed the framework cooperation agreement between VNU and the University of Maryland on exchanging lecturers and students; conducting joint research activities; co-organizing the scientific conferences/workshops, cultural/educational exchange programs and exchanging information/academic documents.

The partnership between VNU and the University of Maryland was officially established in 2011. After 3 years, the cooperation between the two sides has achieved some encouraging results, in which the two sides have successfully cooperated in the field monitoring project; in technology transfer and other professional activities (co-organizing the International Conference on Air Pollution in Asia; exchanging research staffs, conducting joint research and publishing international article, etc.).

The University of Maryland, established in 1856, is one of the famous public universities in the US with over 37,000 students, 9,000 staffs and 250 academic programs. After more than 150 years, the University of Maryland has become the world's leading university in the research, business and innovation fields. The Institute of Higher Education, the unit that ranks leading universities in the world, has ranked the University of Maryland as the 38^th  in the world, 29^th  in the U.S. and the 13^th  among the public universities in the US. In addition, the University of Maryland is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the 21^st among public universities and 62nd among universities of the United States with 19 programs and the specialized academic programs being classified in top 10 and 46 programs and majors being ranked in top 25.

In a meeting with the University of Houston, VNU President Phùng Xuân Nhạ signed the agreement to expand cooperation between VNU and UHCL to implement research programs, high technology application programs and academic program based on 2 +2 model. In the immediate future, the cooperation between the two sides will focus on the construction of academic program in Computer Science (CS). VNU School of Engineering and Technology will provide a high quality source of students from CS program to continue their study at UHCL.

UHCL is committed to giving the consultancy and support for the development of VNU Computer Science undergraduate program with content and standards equivalent to UHCL programs and is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology - ABET.

In addition, the collaboration of lecturers and researchers between VNU School of Technology will also open up many opportunities for collaboration in research and technological transfer projects.

VNU and the University of Houston have signed the cooperation document from 2012. UHCL is an independent member of the University of Houston System (UHS). Founded in 1971, UHCL currently has over 8,000 students. UHCL offers 40 undergraduate programs, 44 graduate programs and 1 doctoral program. UHCL is an autonomous, self-responsible unit in UHS. UHCL is the school that has held many high level courses. UHCL is one of 10 best online MBA training programs in the United States now. /.
