QS World University Rankings: Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) remains among the world’s top 1,000 universities
On June 19, 2019, Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings – UK announced the ranking of the world’s top 1,000 universities in 2020 (QS World University Rankings - QS WUR 2020). Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) maintains its position in the group of 801 - 1000 best universities. However, VNU's ranking scores have increased significantly, placing VNU in the group of 75% of the world's leading universities (previously ranked, VNU was listed in the group of 78.5%).  (28/06/2019)
VNU and Charles University, Czech Republic signed a cooperation agreement on sustainable development
On June 24, 2019, VNU Vice President Pham Bao Son and Charles University Rector Tomas Zima signed a cooperation agreement on sustainable development. The main content of the agreement includes exchanging lecturers, research scholars and students; exchanging scientific publications and documents; co-organizing scientific conferences; conducting joint research projects in such areas as sustainable development and climate change.  (28/06/2019)

On June 18, 2019, VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn awarded VNU Remembrance Medals to the Russian Federation Ambassador to Vietnam Konstantin Vnukov and Director of the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Hanoi Natalia V. Shafinskaya for their valuable contributions to the promoting of good friendship and cooperation between VNU and Russian universities and research institutes in particular and between the two countries in general, in science and technology, training and developing high quality human resources.  (27/06/2019)
(Video) VNU – IS: The 11th Student Research Conference
Diversified, quality and practical are the general evaluation of the audience about the 20 research topics by 100 participating students at this year's conference. The topics covered such areas as Finance and Investment, Business Administration, etc. and were all delivered in English. The Board of Examiners awarded two first prizes, three second prizes, four third prizes, five encouragement prizes and two prizes for posters.  (17/06/2019)

Vietnam National University, Hanoi launches the designing of an Entrepreneurship course
On May 17, 2019, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) launched the designing of an Entrepreneurship course for undergraduates. On this occasion, VNU Centre for Enabling Startups and Knowledge Transfer, FUNiX Online University (under FPT Education), Hanoi Young Entrepreneurs' Association, and the Youth Startup Support Centre (under Vietnam Central Youth Union) signed a MoU on jointly designing the course.  (22/05/2019)
Institutional Digital Repository of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) ranked 170th of the World Universities’ Institutional Repositories
According to the 6th edition of the Ranking Web of Repositories announced in May 2019 by Webometrics, VNU’s institutional digital repository was ranked 170th of the institutional repositories and 184th of the world repositories.  (17/05/2019)

Installing fine dust monitoring FairKit network in Hanoi
The research team of the Centre of Multidisciplinary Integrated Technologies Field Monitoring (FIMO) with a group of students from the School of Aerospace Engineering (SAE), VNU University of Engineering and Technology, are installing fine dust monitoring networks PM2.5 and PM10 at a number of schools and agencies in Hanoi.  (16/05/2019)
APhO 2019 features two medalists from VNU University of Science High School for Gifted Students
The 20th Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO 2019), held in Australia from May 5 to May 13, 2019, attracted participants from 22 countries and territories. All the eight Vietnamese participants won prizes including 2 silver medals, 5 bronze medals and an honourable mention. Among the prize-winners, Nguyen Xuan Ung and Nguyen Xuan Tan, 12th graders from VNU University of Science High School for Gifted Students won a silver medal and a bronze medal, respectively.  (15/05/2019)

VNU University of Science alumnus becomes the first female winner of Ta Quang Buu Award
Among the three main award-winning scientists in 2019, there was a female scientist with excellent publications in Group Q1 journals on the prestigious ISI journal list.
