Prof.Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan gives brief introduction about VNU: a comprehensive, oldest and high quality university; VNU is in the 3% group of the Webometrics ranking (out of 20300 universities in the world).
The two sides have discussed some education reform, the key role of higher education, science and technology in the country development.
Prof.Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan hopes that the visit will help enhance the relationship between VNU and Latvia universities as well as other universities and research institutes globally and help VNU to integrate into the world.
After the talk, the former President Vaira Vike – Freiberga has had another talk to students who are in the VNU strategic mission program and high quality with the topic: innovation and reconstruction.
Vaira Vike – Freiberga was the Latvia President from 1999 to July 2007. She was the first Latvia female President and the first Eastern Europe female leader who contributed to the Latvia development and joining in EU and NATO. Also, she is one of the members of the International Female Leaders Council and is participating lots of international activities.
