VNU – CSIR: Signing the Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation
Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng held talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, in New Delhi on November 20, 2013 in the official working program of Vietnam’s senior delegation in India.

After the talks, in witness of General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh together with the senior delegations of the two countries, President of Vietnam National University (VNU) Phùng Xuân Nhạ and Director General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – CSIR cum Vice Minister of Indian Ministry of Science and Technology Samir K. Brahmachari signed the Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
The agreement between VNU and the CSIR will help boost and expand the cooperation in the scientific research and technological development in the fields of mutual concern.
In accordance with the agreement, the official cooperation fields comprise the chemical science and technology, the bioscience and biotechnology, physics and materials science, geological science, oceanography and climate changes, environmental science and technique.
VNU and CSIR unanimously agreed to establish the VNU-CSIR Center for Common Research and Development with its Headquarters being based in VNU.
VNU President Phùng Xuân Nhạ highly valued the role of the India Council of Scientific Research and Industry in the development of India and expressed his great joy of the partnership and cooperation with CSIR.
President Phùng Xuân Nhạ hoped that on the basis of the two sides’ cooperation, VNU will become an important partner of CSIR in Vietnam, thus making a contribution to promoting the scientific and technological research of Vietnam in particular and of the Southeast Asian region in general.
Apart from its cooperation with the CSIR, VNU has also established the relations and cooperation with many educational science organizations under the Republic of India such as New Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru Universities, Roorkee Institute of Technology and others. VNU is also the leading training and research establishment of India Study in Vietnam.
