VNU Vice President Nguyễn Kim Sơn together with Đại Từ High School Principal Trần Văn Hưng provided guidance on the mock test administration. The test drew special attention of numerous reporters from both central and local news, press and TV agencies.
Nearly 100 students from Đại Từ High School located in Đại Từ district, Thái Nguyên province, took part in the test.  As the test takers came from diverse residential localities: mountainous, rural and township, their feedback on the test would serve as the basis for VNU to finalize the sets of test items as well as the upcoming test administration procedures.

The mock test took place in 3 internet-connected computer rooms, each with 24 computers, 1 server and 20 candidates. Prior to the test, all the securely internet-connected computers had been functioning properly.

Đại Từ High School Principal Trần Văn Hưng said that VNU’s university admission based on competence assessment was appropriate for the development of the society, since the test format had a number of advantages such as reducing pressure on test takers and their parents while ensuring its objectivity and fairness as candidates did the test directly on the computer.

After the mock test, most of the candidates said that they highly appreciated the test model; the test takers all knew the results right after the test completion; the highest score was 119/140 and the mean score was 78.7

On the same day, VNU’s leaders had a press conference with media reporters to clarify issues relating to VNU’s 2015 admissions.
