Attending the conference were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Trần Thị Kim Chi – The late Prof.Acad. Nguyễn Văn Đạo’s spouse; representatives from Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, the Institute of Mechanics, the Association of Vietnam’s Universities and Colleges; FPT Group and FPT university.

From VNU were President Nguyễn Kim Sơn, Vice Presidents Nguyễn Hữu Đức and Lê Quân, VNU former Presidents Đào Trọng Thi and Mai Trọng Nhuận as well as VNU former Vice Presidents.

The conference was a platform for reviewing the deep and unforgettable memory of a talented scientist, a futuristic creative manager, an enthusiastic activist known as a respectable master, brother and colleague.

One of the most meaningful functions within the 10^th anniversary of Prof.Acad. Nguyễn Văn Đạo’s passing was the commemoration ceremony and inauguration of the late Prof.Acad. Nguyễn Văn Đạo’s statue located in Nguyễn Văn Đạo Hall.

Speaking at the conference, VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn shared: “Prof.Acad. Nguyễn Văn Đạo’s life and career were closely related to the national history, Vietnam’s education history and the national revolutionary science in the second haft of the 20^th century. With his distinguished innateness and life-long study, he became an excellent scientist and a prestigious manager in Vietnam higher education community”.

VNU President emphasized that the conference was an occasion to honor Prof.Acad. Nguyễn Văn Đạo’s contributions to the Vietnamese higher education in general and higher education administration in particular.

On behalf of the late Prof.Acad. Nguyễn Văn Đạo’s family, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Trần Thị Kim Chi expressed her sincere thanks to VNU leaders for commemorating and erecting Prof.Acad. Nguyễn Văn Đạo’s statue in VNU Grand Hall named after him.

For his great contribution to the building and development of the country, Prof.Acad. Nguyễn Văn Đạo was awarded with the First-class Labour Order in 2001.
