At the ceremony, Home Affairs Deputy Minister Nguyễn Duy Thăng announced the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 509/QĐ-TTg dated April 17, 2017 on the conditional appointment of Mr. Nguyễn Hồng Sơn, Rector of VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB), as VNU Vice President.
On behalf of the Government, Education and Training Minister Phùng Xuân Nhạ presented the Decision approving the position of VNU Vice President to Mr. Nguyễn Hồng Sơn.
Speaking at the ceremony, VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn sent his congratulations to VNU Vice President Nguyễn Hồng Sơn and said that it was an honour for the newly-appointed Vice President to have been assigned responsibility for academic affairs – an important task with both opportunities and challenges for not only VNU but also for the entire national education sector.
Expressing his honour to have been appointed VNU Vice President, Assoc.Prof. Nguyễn Hồng Sơn said that VNU played an important role in Vietnam higher education and in the national innovation system. The newly-appointed VNU Vice President expressed his determination to continue promoting and innovating academic activities at VNU with VNU President Board. According to him, training must be linked to the particularities of each major or field, demonstrating the strengths of each VNU member, and contributing to the building of One VNU with unity in diversity.
