Before the meeting, VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn welcomed and had a working session with the three countries’ Front Chairmen. VNU President expressed his pleasure and VNU’s honour to host one of the three countries’ Front Chairmen’s Conference activities and said that VNU would continue to be a pioneer in connecting and developing partnerships with regional and international partners through training, research and students exchange.

Representing Vietnam’s youth, Bá Thị Thu Huệ, a student from VNU University of Languages and International Studies, expressed her pride in the three countries’ revolutionary struggle history as well as in the countries’ strong friendship.

Speaking at the event, Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee President Trần Thanh Mẫn, referring to the Vietnamese saying “Sharing joys and sorrows", stressed the sympathetic sentiments shared by the three countries’ peoples over the past years.

On behalf of the front chairmen, Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee chairman expressed his belief and hoped that young people in the three countries would be deeply aware of their role, mission and responsibility in nurturing their great ambitions, sincere friendship, mutual trust, and together strive for peace, stability and development of the three countries.

On this occasion, the three Front Chairmen and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee Secretariat presented 50 gift packages to the outstanding students from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia with the expectation that they would follow the countries’ long-standing tradition to cultivate the three nations’ special friendship and solidarity.
