The cooperation between VNU and E Hospital aims at promoting each side’s potentials and strengths to jointly develop and improve the quality of training, scientific research, knowledge transfer and related service provision; to contribute to the provision of human resources, high-quality scientific and technological products in the field of bio-medicine and pharmacy for the society.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn congratulated E Hospital on its 50th anniversary and emphasized that the establishment of the relationship between VNU and E Hospital was timely and necessary for both sides. VNU President said that the agreement signing was the beginning of comprehensive cooperation in training human resources, scientific research and transfer, biology, technology, engineering, humanities and health care related areas.

E Hospital Director Lê Ngọc Thành stated that it was necessary to promote E Hospital’s scientific research activities alongside its professional activities.

VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy Vice Dean Lê Thanh Hải expressed his commitment to effectively implement the cooperation with E Hospital in training human resources to contribute to the development of health care science.

Following the model "university - main practical hospital”, the cooperation between VNU and E Hospital is a collaboration between a medical staff training institution (VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy) and E Hospital in training, scientific research and people's health care. The Cooperation is detailed as follows:

Training:

Both sides agree that E Hospital is the main practical hospital of VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy. E Hospital ensures to spend over 50% of the course duration conducting practical training for VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy students; and at least 20% of the School’s full-time faculty should be involved in the teaching of clinical and paraclinical practice and will directly take part in clinical examination and appropriate treatment at E Hospital.

E Hospital will send its qualified faculty to work part time at VNU to lecture, guide students practice and research; assist VNU Hospital’s specialists in their professional issues when needed; and provide opportunities for VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy graduates to continue their training and internship at the hospital in appropriate forms and as agreed on by the concerned parties.

VNU will send its qualified doctors, pharmacists, technicians and researchers to work part-time at E Hospital, to directly participate in medical examination and treatment, teaching and guiding students practice and research in E Hospital; to assist in training specialists, technicians at undergraduate and graduate levels; specialists in biomedical research and other natural and social sciences as required by E Hospital.

Scientific research:

The two sides agree to cooperate in scientific research and in the implementation of projects in the field of bio-medicine and pharmacy involving human subjects. In particular, E Hospital provides the necessary conditions such as medical equipment, clinical conditions, volunteers.... The two sides will discuss each case in detail for agreement before implementing.

The two sides will also regularly exchange experiences in scientific research, implementation of laboratory techniques, biomedical testing, clinical trial of new drug products and medical devices as required by law.
