VNU and AUF join in implementing the Master’s program in Archivology and Digitalization
On December 10, 2019, VNU Vice President Pham Bao Son had a meeting with the delegation from the Francophone University Agency (AUF) led by Mr M. Abdelkader ZiGHED, AUF Director of Digitalization.

The meeting between the two sides was on the implementation of the Master’s program in Archivology and Digitalization by VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Aix-Marseille University under the funding of AUF.

The program’s first intake is scheduled for late 2020.

At the meeting, the AUF leaders advised VNU that the cooperation between VNU and AUF over the past few years had brought about the completed design of 4 university training programs in the fields of Law, Psychology, Physics and Chemistry together with other undergraduate and graduate programs. To further promote its strengths, AUF wishes to expand cooperation with VNU through proposing the development of other training modes.

Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Vice Rector of VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the focal point agency of the joint project between VNU and AUF on the establishment of the Centre for Vietnamese Studies Archives, proposed two aspects of cooperation. Firstly, VNU expects AUF to support the Centre in collecting documents related to the two countries’ histories as well as in co-organizing seminars on France’s Vietnamese Studies archives. Secondly, VNU hopes that AUF will provide funding and research experts for the implementation of the Master’s program in Archivology and Digitalization in 2020.

Ms. Hélène DEJOUX, Deputy Director of the AUF Regional Office, agreed with the proposal of VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The AUF representative also suggested some new training methods compatible with digital technology, such as online training, for the program to be more accessible to the public. In addition, she hopes that the results of this project would be the first model for AUF to apply in other countries worldwide.

VNU Vice President Pham Bao Son highly appreciated and welcomed the idea of AUF and added that VNU was aiming to offer international-level majors, especially E-learning, oriented towards digital technology, so VNU was really interested in furthering cooperation with AUF.
