Promoting international joint training
Through international integration, VNU has been developing and incorporating international elements into its high quality, advanced and talent training programs. VNU has been implementing 28 international joint training programs, accounting for 15%; 14 part-time and full-time training programs in English, accounting for 7.7%. Especially, VNU Vietnam - Japan University with its own specificity is implementing 8 high-quality master's programs in the fields of advanced technology and interdisciplinary science based on the original curriculum framework and training methods transferred from Japan. Several major universities around the world have set up representative cooperation offices at VNU to effectively implement cooperation activities with VNU.

Policies and solutions to attract and develop a team of highly - qualified scientists
VNU continued to flexibly apply new features in the State policies, especially staff recruitment procedures, together with speeding up the processing of recruitment applications to attract many leading scientists to participate in VNU’s teaching and research activities, etc. In addition, policies and promotion opportunities for lecturers have also been improved; notably, in 2020, exams/considerations for title promotion for principal and senior lecturers/ researchers were continually organized. Procedures to prolong working time for scientific staff have also been flexibly improved. The aforementioned policies helped improve the working environment, reduce the risk of brain drain and increase VNU’s attraction to scientific staff.

International student exchanges
Since 2016, VNU has participated in the credit exchange program under SHARE Project, which sponsors students in ASEAN and EU to exchange credits for 1 semester or 6 months. Staff and student exchange programs have also been promoted. Up to now, VNU has sent 3,498 staff members and 3,142 students to teach, research, study and exchange abroad; and attracted 2,569 experts and lecturers to research and teach, and 6,441 international students to exchange and study at VNU. According to the Times Higher Education (THE), ranked by indicator, VNU was the best among the three ranked Vietnamese higher education institutions in teaching, research and international outlook.
