11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

First of all, the thesis contributes to finding out about the traditional Joglo houses of the Javanese people in Indonesia in terms of house structure, custom and rituals during the process of house erection in order to identify cultural identity of the Javanese people in the houses.

Secondly, analyzing the specific cultural values of the Joglo houses and recent changes, providing conservation orientations to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the Javanese people in Indonesia in particular and those of the Austronesian peoples in general.

Thirdly, the initial findings on comparing traditional Javanese houses and Austronesian houses in Vietnam (specifically Cham people in Ninh Thuan).

12. Practical applicability, if any:

The thesis contributes to arranging and providing new and comprehensive cultural documents in general and the houses of the Javanese people in Indonesia in particular, providing new documentation when comparing Javanese houses and houses of other peoples. Simultaneously, the findings can be used as reference for subjects such as Southeast Asian cultures, anthropology, ethnography, etc. at universities and centers, research institutes.

13. Further research directions,if any:

- Research on changes of the traditional Joglo houses in the future.

- Expanding research on traditional houses of other peoples in Indonesia in particular, in Southeast Asia in general and comparing with the traditional houses of the Javanese people.
