11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

- The thesis provided a literature review of Nguyen Du’s humanism and its current significance.

- The thesis clarified the conditions and premise to form Nguyen Du’s humanism, including his life and career as subjective factors; socioeconomic and cultural conditions and ideological premise as objective factors, for the birth of his philosophy.

- From the dialectical materialism perspective, especially the philosophy of culture and philosophy of values, this was a systematic and in-depth study of the fundamentals of Nguyen Du’s humanism such as the concept of human beings, human love, human rights to life, human value and human’s aspiration for freedom.

- The thesis pointed out his humanism’s mankind and national value and limitations and its contemporary value was considered in depth.

The thesis can be used as a reference for the research and teaching of Vietnamese ideological history and helpful for undergraduate and postgraduate students of philosophy and cultural studies.
