Asia Research Center, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (hereinafter called ARC-VNU) is a non-profit organization and operates under the law of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; under the regulations of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and under the agreement between the Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the Korean Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS). It was established pursuant to the Decision No. 720/TCCB dated December 13th, 2001 by the President of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Since then, it has become an affiliated unit of VNU with its own legal status, stamp and accounts (VND account and USD account).
Aims and Objectives
To encourage and finance the outstanding research activities carried out by Vietnamese scholars all over the country of which the research results are applied for the advancement of science and the development of the whole society.
To strengthen the academic exchange among scholars to promote the development of the scientific research in Vietnam and to strengthen the mutual understanding and cooperation among researchers inland and abroad for the common prosperity of the whole Asia.
   
Major activities
To provide financial support to carry out scientific research;
To provide financial support to organize academic conferences;
To provide financial support to publish research works (monographs, doctor theses, research results, etc.);
To provide full post-doctoral scholarship to Vietnamese scholars to do one-year research in Korea under the close cooperation with leading professors at universities and research institutions in Korea under the International Scholar Exchange Fellowship (ISEF) Program;
To invite foreign scholars to give lecturers in Vietnam;
To organize international conferences, training workshops, study tours, cultural exchange program;
To support for establishing International program and 16 undergraduate and 23 graduate training programs of International standards (Project 16+23);
To provide financial support to miscellaneous projects that meet to the objectives of the Center;
To fulfill other tasks assigned by the President of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
